Are white lures good for bass?
Both chartreuse and white are excellent colors for fishing in stained or muddy water, which makes it difficult for bass to see their prey.
On days with plenty of sunshine, you should use baits that have a bit of flash because the sunlight will reflect off of baitfish in the same way.
Flash photography is both pointless and potentially unnatural during overcast or cloudy days.
How do you catch a white bass?
The Use of Lures and Baits
White bass can also be caught using a live shiner or threadfin shad as bait. Troll with little spoons and spinners in the spring, which is the time of year when white bass are moving into rivers and moving upstream.
You might have better luck casting with smaller bucktail jigs. It's a good idea to go fishing under bridges both during the day and at night, whether you're doing it in the spring or the summer.
What color lure is best for bass?
The first and most important rule is to use baits with bright colors when fishing in murky or cloudy water and baits with light or muted colors when fishing in clear water.
The reasoning for this is that the visibility of a bass is reduced when there is silt present, so colors like chartreuse, yellow, and orange are more noticeable than hues like bone, pumpkinseed, and smoke.
Is white a good color for fishing lures?
When it comes to choosing a lure color, white is almost always a smart place to begin, especially in water that is quite clear.
First, you should consider the type of white bass in your area. This will help you to know what kind of lure to use and how big it should be. There are three types of white bass: smallmouth, largemouth, and spotted.
Second, you must consider how deep the fish are in your area. If the fish are shallow, you will want a lighter lure with less weight. If they are deep, then you need something heavier with more weight.
Finally, you need to think about what time of year it is and what type of vegetation is around where you are fishing.
Lures that look like insects or worms tend to work better during certain seasons than others due to the vegetation available at different times of year (such as during fall when there may not be any insects, but there may be leaves falling from trees).
